Celebrate National Eat Together Week, September 18th – 24th!

To help reestablish the tradition of gathering around the family dinner table, America’s pork producers are celebrating the 16th year of National Eat Together Week. Beginning September 18th, share a meal with your family whenever you can find time – whether it’s for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

The kitchen table is the perfect place to reconnect with loved ones by coming together over hearty dishes, shared stories and warm conversation. To spend less time in the kitchen and more time around the table, follow these tips:

Plan Ahead: Map out a weekly meal plan and shopping list in advance to save time on rushed weeknights.

Prep Ahead: Chop vegetables and mix up a marinade in a resealable bag, throw in your favorite pork cut, and store in the refrigerator until you’re ready to cook. Come mealtime, everything’s ready to go!

Cook Once, Eat Twice: Make dishes that provide ample leftovers for a second meal later in the week, saving time and money for any busy family. Hearty dishes like BBQ pulled pork and carnitas are perfect for delicious leftovers that get better over time. For even more Cook Once, Eat Twice ideas, click here.

Inspiration Made Easy
With pork, making inspiring, soul-satisfying dishes is easy. Try one of the following recipes, which take less than 30 minutes to prepare:

Southwestern Green Chile Pork Roast – A slow cooker makes dinner a cinch. Packed with the bold flavor of green chiles, tomatoes and fresh avocado, this tender shoulder roast is a one-pot wonder. Switch on the slow cooker in the morning, and dinner will be ready when you get home.

Double-Pork Hash – Comfort food personified, this hash is a skillet full of heaven. Perfect for breakfast, lunch or dinner, this delectable dish features double the pork fun with thick-cut bacon and savory ham.

Pork Roast with Yams, Pears and Rosemary – Fresh rosemary, yams and Bosc pears give this pork roast a delightful, inspired flavor. Pair this recipe with stuffing and a green vegetable for a perfect, seasonal family dinner.

Balsamic Pork Chops – Cook once, but prepare twice the chops so you can eat twice. Slice the leftover cooked chops to build flavorful dishes such as Thai Pork Pizza and Grilled Pork Panini.
