Setting the mood
Once the delicious aroma of pork has filled the room, it’s time to focus on the smaller details. Valentine’s Day calls for the works so break-out the fine china, a table cloth, pressed napkins, flowers, candles, champagne - you name it!
Ambiance - Remember candles are a great addition to any romantic dinner, but choose wisely so the scent doesn’t overpower the smell coming from the kitchen. Candles offer soft lighting so dim the overhead lights or get rid of them all together. And if available, don’t forget to toss an extra log into the fireplace! - Romantic Tunes - As for background noise, turn off the television in order to turn up the romance. - Just the Two of Us - If it’s not just the two of you in the house anymore, consider taking your children to a sitter instead of having one come to you. Don’t feel bad. Valentine’s Day is fun when the table is set for two!
- Dress to impress - Just because you aren’t going out for dinner doesn’t mean you can’t dress the part. Instead of sweats, make a little extra effort to suit up or slide into your favorite dress. Your partner will appreciate the thought, we promise!
