Saucy Pork Chops Italino

Susan Bickta

Ingredients

1/2 cup flour
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
4 1-inch thick center cut pork chops (boneless)
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 onion, thinly sliced
1 green pepper, thinly sliced
1 28-ounce jar spaghetti sauce
1 14.5-ounce can Italian style petite diced tomatoes, undrained
1/4 cup dry red wine

Directions
Combine the flour, garlic salt, black pepper and Italian seasoning in a large bowl. Dredge the pork chops in the flour mixture and place in 1 12-inch non-stick skillet with the vegetable oil. Cook 10-12 minutes (5-6 minutes each side) until browned. Transfer chops to greased crock of slow cooker.
In same skillet, add the onion and green pepper, stirring to loosen browned bits from bottom of pan. Add the spaghetti sauce, diced tomatoes and red wine. Stir until well combined , then pour over chops in slow cooker.
Stir gently to distribute sauce evenly around chops. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
Serve with pasta of your choice.
