Grandma Ono’s Ono Roast

Maile Chow

Ingredients

2-3 lb pork butt
5-6 cloves garlic, peeled
1 bottle of Kitchen Bouquet browning and seasoning sauce
1/2 cup soy sauce
1 cup water
salt and pepper to taste

Directions
Pork The word “ono” means delicious in Hawaiian. It is also my husband’s last name and that of his late grandmother. Her simple but delicious roast pork is loved by all and truly lives up to its moniker—ono!
Make small slices in pork butt. Stuff garlic cloves in holes. Rub pork butt with salt, pepper and Kitchen Bouquet until pork is very dark brown. Brown pork butt in skillet on top of stove until outer layer is a sizzling, golden brown.
Put soy sauce and water into Crock Pot. Put pork into Crock Pot. Cook on high for 4 hours.
Enjoy!
