Spray crock with non- stick cooking spray. Place pork butt in bottom of crock. sprinkle one pork seasoing packet on top of pork, flip, and sprinkle other packet on oth side. In medium bowl, mix together kraut, brown sugar, bacon pieces and pepper. Place on top of pork and cook on high for 4 hours. Remove lid and move kraut to side, removing pork to work surface or plate to pull meat. Using two forks, shred meat. Place pork back in crock, stirring together thoroughly with kraut. Cover and cook an additional 20-30 minutes on low. To serve as sandwich, open pretzel or rye buns. Place a slice of cheese on bun bottoms. Using a slotted spoon to drain pulled pork &kraut mixture slightly, heap serving on top of cheese ( top with optional mustard of you choice) and then top of bun. Serves 8. Perfect for tailgate or carryins. Refrigerates and reheats well! |
