The National Pork Board is thrilled to announce that the following were chosen as America’s savviest slow cookers: Shannon Dolan’s Herbes De Provence Sausage (Villanova, PA) Cheryl Bailey’s Trip-to-Tuscany Pork Tenderloin (New York, NY) Laura Ploeger’s “This Little Figgy Stayed Home” (Brandy Station, VA) Shirley DeSantis’ Harvest-Thyme Pork ‘N Pears with Fennel (Bethlehem, PA) Linda Cifuentes’ Kapusta Pork (Mahomet, IL)
All of the finalists will be jetting off to the Big Apple where their recipes will compete at Crocktoberfest, hosted by celebrity mom Candace Cameron Bure and “Top Chef – Season 5” winner Chef Hosea Rosenberg. Candace and Hosea, along with some of New York City’s finest media and food bloggers will collectively determine “America’s Pork ‘Crock-Star!’”
